The Skill Building Workshop I begins with a self-assessment and continues with an overview of court and medical interpretation, including:

Useful Phrases for Interpreters Medical Interpreter Standards of Protocol
World Class Standards for Interpreters Technical Terms Needed by Medical Interpreters
Interpreter Resources Skill Building Exercises
Professional Opportunities Use and Development of Glossaries

Specialized topics will include:

Burglary O.R. Motion
Weapons Jury Instructions
Medical Interview Accident Report
Pediatrics Report of Interview
Sexual Crimes Probation Report
Last Will and Testament Statement of Defendant's Right


Our Faculty

All of our faculty members are Federally Certified Court Interpreters, the highest certification available in the United States. They all have worked or are currently working as staff interpreters in a court or are active freelance interpreters.

We pride ourselves in having the most qualified and certified interpreters teach our training seminars.


Admission Requirements

We do not have any explicit requirements for this workshop.

Please be aware that the workshop will be taught in both Spanish and English and students are expected to be fully bilingual in both languages (if you have questions about your language skills please contact us at (520) 621-3615).

Working knowledge of legal and medical terminology is not required.

We do limit enrollment to ensure a good student to teacher ratio. Workshops will not have more than 20 students.
